One Click LCA was used to perform a whole-building LCA to calculate the embodied carbon associated with the construction materials in this new YMCA. Material substitution options were examined and their relative impacts on emissions were considered. This information will be applied to the design of future YMCA Community centres in the Toronto area, with lower carbon material options being specified.
