Knauf Experience Center has been planned from the very beginning as a demonstration center for advanced sustainable solutions from Knauf Insulation, a leading company in the region in the field of mineral wool production. Accordingly, the decision to acquire the DGNB certificate for sustainable buildings was decided already in the designing phase.

The building is designed in two full floors and a flat roof. Besides the two offices, the conference room, and the demonstration room, the entire ground floor is used as a demonstration room, where presentations and educational trainings are held for the clients of the company. The building envelope presents various facade solutions that are controlled by sensors with which the company acquires important data for the development of new products.

During the planning process, as well as during the construction process itself, processes were implemented to ensure a comprehensive, sustainable building quality. The acquisition of the DGNB Platinum certificate is the confirmation of the high quality of the selected materials and the processes, carried out by DGNB Auditor Robert Smodis. The Knauf Experience Center is the first sustainably-built new construction in Slovenia and a pilot project for Level(s).
