British Land ahead of embodied carbon schedule with One Click LCA

British Land is using One Click LCA to cut embodied carbon across their portfolio

British Land is ahead of their embodied carbon reduction schedule and accelerating pace with use of One Click LCA software across all their projects, as the real estate and property leader works towards achieving their ambitious carbon commitment.

14 February 2022 – Helsinki, Finland, One Click LCA, the world’s leading construction decarbonisation platform, has been chosen by British Land, a leading property company in the UK, to support implementation of their ambitious net zero carbon pathway.

British Land has set an industry-leading target for reducing embodied carbon by 50% by 2030 and committed to make all developments delivered after April 2020 net zero carbon.

To deliver on these targets, British Land uses One Click LCA to conduct whole life carbon assessments for all new developments, refurbishments and Category A fit-outs. The assessments are performed across all the project stages from planning to completion, as well as for standing assets already in use.

Last month British Land announced that they have already reduced average embodied carbon across their portfolio to 640 kg CO2e/sqm, a third less than the industry average.

Although British Land is ahead of their schedule, work on decarbonisation continues to meet their ambitious portfolio carbon target.
