Carbon Regulations Update for the Construction Industry
Tuesday, February 27th 2024 – 11:00 AM (EET)
The Construction Industry is the largest responsible for Greenhouse Gas emissions that contribute to climate change worldwide. To combat the challenges imposed by climate change in Europe, the European Commission has put in place a series of regulations focusing on the improvement of performance, processes and materials within the Construction Industry.
As a construction professional or construction product manufacturer either based in Europe or doing business within European countries, you may have seen news about the upcoming regulations in the Construction Industry in Europe. These regulations focus on reducing carbon emissions gradually, towards making Europe the first Carbon Neutral Continent by 2050.
To achieve this ambitious goal, different regulations are being proposed on many fronts, including the energy of buildings, the design of construction products and a carbon-based taxation for construction products commercialised within Europe. To be compliant, transparency is the key.
Environmental Product Declarations and Building Life Cycle Assessment are some of the initiatives that can be implemented to help promote transparency and credibility regarding carbon emissions and other indicators of environmental impact. Such practice not only allows for compliance with the latest European regulations, but also helps to attest sustainability claims, promotes optimization of operations and plays a pivotal role in business decision making.
Participate in this session to update yourself in the latest Carbon Regulations in Europe regarding the Construction Industry.
